Google and Lenovo announced during this year’s CES that they will jointly launch Project Tango smartphones. This smartphone will enable users to create 3D models of their environment.This will be a state of the art future technology in action for the first time. It is reported that this Smartphone will be released this summer, while the final design is not yet determined, the Project Tango smartphone will be equipped with a 6.5-inch display. The final pricing market listing is not yet announced.
Project Tango’s technology can allow users to create 3D models of their indoor environment using the phone’s camera, and can be used in the future development of enhanced building and designing technology. Apart from this,, Google and Lenovo also said developers hatching project for Project Tango smartphone was also launched, inviting developers to develop more applications and games for Project Tango. Google and Lenovo have teamed up to provide financial support for development of applications and games for their smartphone. Interested developers should submit their ideas by December 5th this year as it will be deadline for all submissions.
Google came up with similar idea last year where it conducted championships for application development in augmented reality for it’s Google Cardboard VR kit. In addition, Intel also said members of Project Tango can make their work easy with it’s $400 intel app dev kit which is already seeing lot of booking. In addition, Qualcomm also announced support for Project Tango. WE should just wait and see what an incredible tech gadget Google is having in it’s vision.
