The service has just been released in the country and offers a free trial month.
HBO landed yesterday in Spain and if you are a curious person, surely you did not miss the opportunity to register to at least enjoy a free month of the platform catalog. It is true that the offer still has to grow a lot and that at the moment is below what Netflix offers, but that does not remove so that the service on demand content has quite interesting titles that you should not miss. Do you want us to make a small selection for you to start squeezing? Then we leave you with a list of six series that you should see already in HBO Spain. You’ll tell us what you think about it.
Game of Thrones
The quintessential series of HBO. If half the world knows the existence of the platform perhaps it is thanks to the success of this incredible production based on the books ‘Song of ice and fire’ written by George RR Martin. Set in an ancient world, Game of Thrones is one of the phenomena of the moment thanks to the perfect combination of a complex history, large doses of fantasy and fantastic and charismatic characters. Already it has six seasons with idea of launching the seventh in 2017 . If you have not yet seen her, we do not know what you are waiting for.
Created by Jonathan Nolan (responsible for the great ‘Interstellar’ or ‘The Dark Knight’) and Lisa Joy (‘Pushing Daisies’), the series is inspired by the 1973 film of the same name written and directed by Michael Crichton. ‘ Westworld ‘ has a theme park in the future where people can go to spend a few days in exchange for a large sum of money. Inside Westworld guests will meet the hosts, disturbingly real humanoids who are in charge of making sense of the dynamics of the fictional world and of interacting with the guests. However, this idyllic world will soon begin to fail.
If you like science fiction and suspense, The Leftovers is your series. Written by Damon Lindelof, co – author of ‘ Lost ‘, its history posed by the future of the city of Mapleton after suffering the phenomenon of “heading”, during which a large number of people worldwide (2% of the population Worldwide) disappeared without leaving any trace. To go crazy.
And you talk about it when its first trailer was launched in early November last year. This series is based on a comic of the same name by Vertigo, DC Comics editorial seal, and tells the story of Jesse Custer, a preacher of a Texas town that ends up being possessed by Genesis (creature resulting from the union of an angel and A demon that gives him unconventional powers), reason why it decides to initiate a trip by the United States in search of God next to a shooter and a vampire.
HBO has also wanted to bet on the comic universe with the incorporation of several series based on them. We have talked about ‘Preacher’, but in offering the platform also find ‘ Supergirl ‘ -a tad flojilla according to critics, it herself, ‘ Legends of tomorrow ‘ and ‘T have Flash ‘. The latter tells the adventures of Barry Allen, a police scientist who acquires special powers to move incredibly fast after an accident in a facility. A series without as much dramatic load as the rest of proposals, but equally lends itself to its enjoyment and entertainment.
“J obs is an impostor, he did not even know how to write code .” With such a phrase begins the trailer of this great series set in the frenetic universe of Silicon Valley, the geek and technological cradle par excellence of the USA. This proposal, already going for its third season, combines like no one else’s humor with the world of startups, applications and engineering in that technology bubble that is Silicon Valley. Do not forget to take a look.
* Bonus: True Blood
If you like the vampire-themed world, you’ll love ‘True Blood’. This great series ended last year after 7 entertaining seasons, perhaps with some ups and downs, but which together gave us an attractive story that tells of relationships in a world where humans and vampires coexist, who drink synthetic blood so they do not have to Attack the first … or at least that’s the theory, of course.
